COUNTY: Supreme Court of Justice of Paraguay.

ASeS, on April 10, 2002, signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Supreme Court of Justice of Paraguay, represented by its President Dr. Carlos Fernandez Gadéa, in which it bore the expenses requiring the processing, transfer to microfilm and reproduction of documents belonging to the Police Documentation Center Archives to which the justice system could finally have free access. With a view to carrying out a sorting, cataloging and systematization of 250,000 pages of the Police Archive on the dictatorship, with microfilm transfer of the documents, AseS contracted three archivists who served in the Documentation Center and Archives for the Defense of Human Rights of the Supreme Court of Justice of Paraguay.

The goal of the project was to safeguard the aforementioned documents, particularly those that highlight violence and torture perpetrated in compliance with the infamous “Plan Condor,” by making the documentation available to the judiciary that conducted trials to bring justice to tortured, murdered and “desaparecidos.”
