#lanaturanonsiferma phase2: ASeS and Cia Agricoltori Italiani together for the revitalization of rural areas after the crisis caused by Coronavirus
Phase 2 of the #lanaturanonsiferma project was presented in Rome. An initiative promoted by our organization in collaboration with Cia-Agricoltori Italiani and the contribution of Enea and Enel. Title of the initiative “Agriculture at the center of economic and social revitalization.”
The aim is to give support and backing to the agricultural world hard hit by the Coronavirus health emergency, which has brought out old and new critical issues, increasing difficulties and especially the poverty index.
As illustrated by Cinzia Pagni, ASeS president who did the honors at the Roman event, this project complements the NGO’s efforts during the lockdown: the first phase of #lanaturanonsiferma with the delivery of personal protective equipment for those working in the different areas of the agricultural supply chain and the #agricoltorisolidali project for the collection of foodstuffs to be allocated to the families most affected by the crisis done in collaboration with some territorial Caritas,
Phase2’s commitment is to support those who live and work in rural areas by providing information and ensuring clarity about the many opportunities, such as bonuses, subsidies and funding put in place by the government to address the various issues of this historic moment.
lanaturanonsiferma -phase 2- will kick off in August, several rural areas of the country will be involved, and it will be implemented through meetings, held in compliance with anti-covid regulations, during which the opportunities currently provided will be explained, such as the guide to the new tax deductions for energy upgrading. “To cope with the emergency, the government has put in place several decrees, in terms of allocated resources, aids, facilities and subsidies”-explained, going into detail, ASeS President Cinzia Pagni-but it soon became clear that access to such aid is often complicated and difficult, especially for those who do not have total mastery of the new telematic systems. Therefore, we felt it was our duty to support those living in rural areas to access the benefits provided. With this in mind, we launched the second phase of the #lanaturanonsiferma project, which began in Tuscany, and now we are expanding the scope of action, thanks to the collaboration of Enea and Enel, in inland rural areas throughout the country, to support in particular citizens and micro farms in conditions of economic, social and geographical fragility. A choice of responsibility to give concrete help to restart.” Also along the same lines is Federico Testa, president of Enea, which is a partner in the project. In his speech, he stressed that : “With ASeS -Cia we intend to bring knowledge, expertise, support and assistance where they often do not arrive, being able to do this in all rural areas of Italy, even in the most fragile areas, seemed to us the right thing to do.”
“Agriculture is a fundamental sector of our country,” Carlo Tamburi, director of Enel Italy, pointed out in his speech. We supported the #lanaturanonsiferma project to provide a concrete contribution to those working in the agricultural sector as part of a sustainable recovery of our country.”
Concluding the evening were the words of Dino Scanavino president of Cia-Agricoltori Italiani “Solidarity,” he commented, “and support for citizens and businesses, must absolutely not fail in the phase after the emergency; rural areas have never given up, and farmers have been in the front line to ensure national food supply during the emergency. An extraordinary commitment carried out with dedication, which is why it is necessary to support agriculture with adequate measures and resources, allowing all farms in the national territory to know and especially to access aid. This is the only way that Made in Italy agriculture can continue to be one of the engines of growth, being fully part of Italy’s economic recovery plan.”
